I do not understand where McCain has gotten the idea that any Democrats is proposing that the US "surrender" in Iraq. I cannot think of any Democrat that has inrodcued a strategy in which the US cuts its losses and completely pulls out of Iraq.
Instead, I see an actual plan [which the Republicans have not come up with] that gives the President the opportunity to make responsible decisions in Iraq. It gives the President the discretion to determine how many advisory troops are necessary to train the Iraqi Army and police, how many troops are necessary to protect those advisory troops, and how many troops are necessary to persecute Al Qaida in Iraq.
I feel these three tasks are adequate to protect our interests in Iraq and are consistent with Bushs "justification" for the war. The bill is giving the President necessary discretion to run this war, which is more than I feel he deserves.
