What do you think?

Do you think that America and the rest of the free world should continue the fight against terror or should it sit by and wait to see them disappear on their own?

My answer is that we should indeed continue to protect ourselves from the terrorist threat. The terrorist threat is not something that will go away on it own, as well it will not go away through diplomacy. The only way to rid the world of terrorism is to hunt, capture and kill them. Although this seems very drastic its what is needed to protect the people of the free world.

What do you think?

I agree, anybody who thinks we have seen the worst in regards to terrorism is fooling themselves. This is an EMERGING global threat and it must be stopped as soon as possible.

I don't really know how to answer to your question, Ruben. War on terrorism is now becoming part of the divergent therory in which our current president, George Bush is using war to distract Americans from domestic issues such as economy, health insurance, education, immigration and corruption within the Republican party.
Should the government take action against terrorism? Yes, I think it should but not to the point where the government is taking away our civil liberty. We can fight on war against terrorism without listening to other people's telephone conversation.

Well personally I think that Americans need to realize that if you do not have anything to hide, then who cares who is I listening to my conversations. If you got nothing to hide then you should not worry what have to say.

Damn..you're still stick to the comment you said two, three years ago at AAS.

Back to your comment, I feel that our civil liberties and privacy are being taken away when we, Americans, give too much power to the government to spy on us. It's not about whether or not you have something to hide. People want privacy. Fighting against terrorism doesn't need government to be up on our asses, you know.

I would love to know who "activist4life" is. But getting back to the debate, I feel that yes privacy is important, however it is more important to protect Americans from terrorists that live within our country. And if that means giving up some of my civil liberties it ok by me. Americans safety is more important than my personal privacy. I think people are just scared that it may go to far and we may have another Red Scare on our hands. As a student of history I do not think that will repeat itself. I think people are far more educated then they once where.

I am undecided. I agree with Reuben, if we have nothing to hide then why complain? But yet, why should the government know where you are, when you are, etc. Doesn't it have enough information about you already? Why should the government know if you broke up with your lover, if so and so is having a party, if you saw a pair of sneakers you wanted at the mall or whatever it is you talk about on the phone?

Secondly, I do not think the war is used to distract us. I think it is just as important as the domestic issues. Though we need to examine and fix the issues here at home, we are fighting a war for our security and safety, which is just as important as health care, and education.
