What the US doesn't want you to watch

Al-Jazeera, the infamous Arab network that plays all the Bin Laden tapes, has officially launched its service in English. It’s currently available in over 80 million homes, expect for the US. Major Cable companies such as Comcast and Time Warner have rejected it; Dish Network and Direct TV are considering making it after of their additional programming. The US government (Bush administration) denounces the network claiming it incites un-American sentiment. But what's wrong with a little balance of propaganda. FOX has openly promoted the Republican agenda; we continue to bear their bias.
Al-Jazeera's new service has recruited acclaimed reporters from CNN, BBC and even ABC. They hope to tap into their competitor's viewers by being the only major station broadcasting from a non-Western perspective. It available in HD too!

Although I agree that American news does present an extreme amount of Bias which does not inform the American people well. However I feel that Al Jazeera represents an Anti-America feeling that should not be publicized with in our borders.

Anti-American feeling?

What I meant by anti-American feeling is that the Al Jazeera network most Americans know is associated with terrorism. Although I am in 100% agreement with Free Speech, I think that type of sentiment does not need it own network. I think that in the long run it will probably hurt the American people. If I am not mistaken Al Jazeera is one station which terrorist use to divulge their terrorist propaganda on to their people, why would we want that in our borders. Furthermore Al Jazeera English is connected to the parent company Al Jazeera, then money raised through advertisements et cetera could be funneled to terrorist. Which I think most Americans would disagree with.

Here's the video of it's first airing:

so much anti-american feeling it's disgusting (sarcasm)

Al Jazeera doesn't fund terrorists, and it airs terrorist videos just like CNN and other networks do, just that Al Jazeera gets them first well because they're in the region and they aren't state run. Al Jazeera is anti-terrorist, they don't show the videos as in support, but in a journalistic way.

Please stop hating something you don't know anything about.

I think everyone's forgetting one thing. Here in America, we have private industry. That means no matter what Bush says, they can pretty much do whatever they want. Obviously, their research has shown that if they took this company into their network, they would lose more money than is gained. If you really have a problem with this, write your cable company

Business 101: Government can regulate your ass like crazy if you do not take their "recommendations." Just look at what happened to Howard Stern.
Cables companies do not want that to happen to them.
